Men’s Ministry

There is a heart for men at the core of our ministry here at South Baptist. The unique needs of men today and the difficult cultural environment they must navigate through, make it vitally important that we do all we can to encourage all men to step up and fulfill their God-given role today! Through a variety of opportunities, we want to see this happen.

Wednesday Night Bible Study

The current study is “Think Differently” by James MacDonald.  If you repeatedly find yourself in places where you don’t want to go, it’s your thinking that’s leading you there.  In this study by James MacDonald, he identifies strongholds, examines how they came to be, and offers believers a biblical path toward repentance and the renewing of their minds. God offers our only hope for victory over disposition dysfunction, double-mindedness, and every other mental stronghold we often struggle with. With Him we can think differently.  Join us each Wednesday night at 6:30pm in room 301 for a time of friendship building, discussion around God’s Word and prayer.  No charge – just show up!

Heavy Lifters

Heavy Lifters is a ministry that gives men the opportunity to use their muscles and their skills to encourage someone in our church family who has a need.

Wilderness Trips

Taking trips to Algonquin Provincial Park to spend time with God and be challenged to live for Him, has become part of the Men’s Ministry at South. Below is a video of the 2014 trip. The women did a trip that same week, and we combined the pictures of the trips into one video. Enjoy!

The Quest at Lincoln Lake Camp

Each September we head to Lincoln Lake Camp in Gowen, MI for a chance to have fun, eat well, and learn what it means to live like a real man!  The cost is right around $75. The weekend is for guys age 16+.  To register, please click here.

Other Opportunities

There are lots of other opportunities for men at South! We attend Men’s Weekends (last year we went to the Act Like Men Conference in Chicago), we have a softball team, we go on fishing trips, and sometimes have a golf tournament — but more importantly, we lead. We study the Bible, we pray for and serve each other, and we have a lot of fun, too.
