SouthKids

Our kids program is designed to assist parents in guiding children into a relationship with God and grounding them in God’s Word so that they may grow in their relationship with Christ.

Sundays, 9:30 Core Elective

During our 9:30 hour, we have child care for ages 0-preschool. The teachers take time during that hour to sing songs and share a Bible story with the children. This class meets in the 2&3 year olds room.

For our elementary kids, we have a Core Class during the 9:30 hour. This allows them to learn from God’s Word, while parents are invited to take part in an adult class studying God’s Word or go to the prayer time.

Sundays, 10:30 Service

After check-in, children ages 0-preschool can go to their age-specific class. These classes are divided up by the following ages: 0-24 months, 2&3 year olds, and 4&5 year olds. These kids will get to enjoy a fun time learning God’s Word with our trained and background-checked staff.

If your child(ren) were in the Core Class at 9:30, the teachers will make sure they get to the proper room for the 10:30 service.
Elementary kids in grades K-3rd grade should be checked in prior to the service, in the Children’s Lobby. Then they will join their parents for the beginning of our worship service where they can participate in our worship time. Before the preaching begins, they will be dismissed to the back of the Worship Center, where they will be escorted to the KidTown hallway. Here they will enjoy a time of Bible teaching and activities with trained and background-checked staff. You will pick them up in the KidTown hallway following the service, using the claim tag you received at Check-in.

Elementary students in 4th and 5th grade have the opportunity to sit with their parents for the entire worship service. When you enter the Worship Center, there is a small, black round table in the back. On that table you will find Worship Notes for your 4th or 5th grader to pick up. These notes are designed to help your child stay engaged during the service. There is also a small bucket where they can feel free to grab a sucker to enjoy as well. Every 6 weeks or so, we provide a special class for this age. On those days, your kids(s) will need to be checked in prior to the service. They will still join you for the worship portion of the service, but right before the preaching, they will be dismissed to the back of the Worship Center where they will be escorted to the Kidtown hallway for their class. Please pick them up after the service using your claim tag.

Wednesdays, 6 – 7:30 PM

During the school year, we offer childcare and classes for kids of all ages. Please check in your child(ren) at the Check-in desk in the Children’s Lobby, and then take them to their appropriate class. As always, our staff is all background-checked.
For the little ones ages 0-36 months, we have childcare provided in our nursery, so that you can have the opportunity to attend a Bible study for the evening. We also have a class geared toward our younger kids ages 3-5. They will spend time with loving workers who will play with them and care for them during the evening. They will also be learning about how God made them and loves them. This will take place in our 4&5 year olds room. The elementary-aged kids have an exciting program called Engage happening in the KidTown hallway. During this time, your kid(s) will enjoy singing, games, small group time, activities, and most importantly, they will be learning from God’s Word by working through the Bible chronologically.

Safety & Security

For the safety and security of all our children, all kids entering our Children’s Wing or KidTown hallway will be required to be registered and checked in at our Check-in Center in the Children’s Lobby. When registering for the first time, you will be asked to provide some basic information, along with any special instructions (allergies, special or medical needs, etc.) for your child(ren). Each week thereafter, you will simply check in using your name or phone number. Upon checking in, a name tag will print for each child along with a claim tag for parents with an ID code unique for your family. Upon picking up your child(ren), you will simply need to show your claim tag, and your child(ren) will be released to you.

Family Opportunities

Kids don’t stay kids forever, and we think it’s important for them to see what the body of Christ as a whole looks like, and to give opportunities for families to grow together as a family and in God’s Word. Here’s a couple different things we offer to accomplish this:

Family Gatherings

Our Family Gatherings are a chance for our kids age K-3rd graders to join their parents for the entire 10:30 worship service. These take place once every two or three months. We provide Thrive bags for this service containing helpful tools to assist in keeping them engaged for the entire worship service.

Family Events

Throughout the year, we plan different family events! Whether this is a movie night, bowling, skating, game nights, picnics, bonfires, or whatever else we can come up with, our goal is to give families the opportunity to spend time together as well as get to know other families. Check out our calendar to see what’s scheduled for our next family event.

Day Camp

During the summer, we have a Day Camp for kids entering Kindergarten – 6th grade. It is an
action-packed week including singing, crafts, games, learning Bible truths, and fun-filled field
trips. This is a week in their summer they won’t want to miss.Lake Ann Camp

Each summer, kids entering 4th grade on up have the opportunity to board our church bus with
all their camp “stuff” and head to Lake Ann summer camp! For more information, visit
