Where were you born? Most of us would answer that question with the name of a hospital, in a sterile room, surrounded by a doctor and professionally trained nurses and assistants. Not so, for Jesus. His answer would be a damp and dark cave, or possibly a dirty stable, surrounded by smelly animals! The only one there to help His mother Mary give birth was a carpenter. Joseph didn’t have the skill set you would want in their situation. His were calloused, rough and scratchy hands. Not the hands into which you would place a newly born baby. But, there they were, by God’s design and for His purpose. Their experience speaks to us 2000 years later, asking if we would make room for the Savior. Pastor Scott continues with part 2 in his series entitled Unusual. Today’s message is entitled, “Unusual Birthplace”.
