I know, it has been a while since I have posted a blog, and I probably should do a better job at it. For now, I simply will ask for your forgiveness, and will share with you some things that I hope will be helpful to you.

gymBy now I hope that you are aware that our theme for this new year is Get FIT, and we are challenging one another to get our Faith In Training. If we are going to be a church that is effectively making disciples, we need to be a church that is working at having strong faith. As a result, we have carefully planned our Core Classes, Sunday morning message series, and Wednesday night Bibles studies to serve the purpose of working out our faith in different ways.

However, as with physical training, spiritual training is not effective if it is only taking place one or two times a week. We want to help you hit the spiritual gym on a daily basis. Therefore, we are putting together a “spiritual gymnasium” containing different equipment to help you work out your faith on your own.

One of the pieces of equipment will be weekly devotional thoughts that will coincide with the Sunday morning messages. These thoughts are to serve as a reminder of what we have learned that particular week. Another piece of equipment you will find in the spiritual gymnasium will be specific recommended resources that will coincide with the Sunday morning messages. These resources may be RightNow Media studies, or even books that you can buy. We hope that this will trigger you to study the material that we are covering, even harder. One final piece of equipment you will find in the spiritual gymnasium will be general recommended resources. These will help you to more effectively work out your faith through Bible study and prayer.

With that being said, let me introduce you to South Baptist Church’s Spiritual Gymnasium.
