I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their encouragement and generosity for my 10 year celebration. But more than that, I want to give glory to God for the people that he has used over the years to encourage, help, sustain, teach, and love me and my family over the years.

  • I give glory to God for high school youth workers through the years: for their hard work, their love for teenagers, their support of me and the ministry, and their godly example to students.

  • I give glory to God for junior high youth workers through years: for all of the above and also their initiative to “take the ball and run with it”,  for preparing middle school students and getting them excited about high school ministry.

  • I give glory to God for college/singles/young adult workers through the years: for all of the above and also their perseverance in not giving up on age group that often give up on themselves.

  • I give glory to God for parents of teens through the years: for trusting me to take them on trips and to invest in their lives spiritually. Also for your graciousness toward me as I am forever still learning.

  • I give glory to God for my fellow pastoral staff through the years: for their friendship, their understanding of the uniqueness and burdens of ministry, for the times that we laugh together, and cried together, the fact that no matter our differences of style, philosophy, or even theology (the minor stuff) we're always on the same team.

  • I give glory to God for the Band of Brothers (and sisters) who been with me on wilderness: for taking a risk in letting me lead you into the woods, and while we were in the woods meeting with God. You've seen (and smelled) me at my worst.

  • I give glory to God for those who love my kids: by loving them, you've loved me.

  • I give glory to God for those who've helped me move over the years: whether it was from Ohio to the Harris's house, from the Harris houses to Swartz Creek, or from Swartz Creek to Grand Blanc.

  • I give glory to God for those who befriended and helped Laurie when the twins were born: for bringing meals, watching kids, cleaning floors, folding laundry, or just talking over coffee.

  • I give glory to God for all the things that I'm forgetting to mention on this list: I'm sure there are many.

  • I give glory to God for 10 years of ministry at South Baptist Church.
