The purpose of Women’s Ministries at South Baptist is to help women connect with God and with one another.
Colossians 1:10 — Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
There are four main areas of opportunity for women:
Enlightenment Enrichment Evangelism Encouragement
ENLIGHTENMENT (Bible Study)
Believing that the Word of God holds everything we need for life and godliness, at South we provide Bible studies for women throughout the year. Studies are offered on Wednesday evenings, during fall, winter and spring. We sometimes have a summer study too! By searching and growing in God’s Word, we hope to connect with one another in a deeper way.
Wednesday Night Option
Join us on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM during the school year, as we study the Bible together! We are currently studying the Book of Daniel, with Beth Moore as our video teacher. We meet in our small groups to interact about what we learned from God’s Word during our study at home. This study will span the entire school year, so join us anytime!
Thursday Morning Option
During the school year, this group meets every other Thursday, from 9 – 11 am, in Room 105. Currently they are doing a book/video study called “Fight Back with Joy” by Margaret Feinberg. There is studying to be done at home between classes, to go deeper!

We would love for you to come and bring a friend or two to Women’s events at South throughout the year. We organize many events that may appeal to different women within our church family. It’s a great way to grow in your faith as well as connect with other women at South. We strive to connect with one another through these events; laughing, eating, and building relationships with each other.
Some Enrichment Opportunities…
Stitch in Time — beginners and advanced working together, encouraging and helping each other. We meet 3-4 times each year on Saturday mornings.
Scrapbooking — a couple of all-day crops each year — always a blast!
Game Nights — even if you don’t play games, come on out to watch, laugh, and get to know some of the South women a little better.
Book Club — we agree to read a book (all different kinds) and then we get together once a month to talk over the book, at someone’s house. So much fun!
Every fall we either head to Lake Ann Camp for their Ladies’ Retreat, or we host our own retreat right at South! It’s an awesome time of building friendships, and growing closer to God. Stay tuned for more details about what this year’s plan is!
Mom Squad — We meet twice a month, and our group times include a time of building relationships and having fun with other moms, a short time of teaching and encouragement regarding parenting and life based on God’s Word, some activities, and of course, food! Kids ages 0 – 6 will be well-cared for and have a great time with their leaders and friends at our Mom Squad kids groups during these Tuesday morning meetings. Invite your mom friends to join the group! Click here to register. Click here to be added to our Facebook group, for up-to-the-minute communication.
It is our desire to equip women at South to confidently reach out to their co-workers, neighbors, etc. with love and compassion. We seek to provide opportunities for women to reach out.
Carriage Town “Beyond the Basics Event” is one such opportunity to share God’s love and explain the way to a personal relationship with Christ. We visit CTM Family Center to share time, conversation, and snacks with the women and their children. We leave them with a lovely toiletry kit full of grooming aides that go Beyond the Basics and help to make them feel special.
We strive to connect our women with opportunities to reach women with the gospel in our community.
How encouraging it is to have someone come alongside just when you need it most! With that in mind, we strive to connect with women through identifying and attempting to meet needs. A couple of our ministries of encouragement are:
Prayer — We are striving to make our commitment to pray for women more visible. For now, be assured (and encouraged) our women at South are praying for one another.
Meals Ministry — We provide meals for those in our church family who are hospitalized or who have surgery.
Ephesians 6:7 — “Serve whole heartedly; as if you were serving the Lord, not men.”
