My family just recently returned from an unbelievable vacation in Florida.  What made it so unbelievable (and I still have trouble wrapping my brain around) is that this trip was provided for us by some of our relatives.  It’s difficult to comprehend, with how excited I was to go on this trip, that it was even able to exceed my lofty expectations.  There were many firsts for my family including the kid’s first time in Florida and thus their first visit to Disney World.  Our time spent with family and our accommodations were amazing.  I truly cannot say enough good things about the experience.  Quite frankly, the only negative thought I had was that it had to end.  Several tears were shed on the last day as our families separated to enter back into everyday life.  As I’ve taken time to reflect back on the experience and the sacrifice that our family made to make this possible, I am in awe.  It was an experience for which I will be forever grateful.

grateful = warmly or deeply appreciative of kindness or benefits received; thankful

There is another experience for which I am in awe and, more importantly, for which I am eternally grateful.  That is Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross for me.

Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)
But he was pierced for our transgressions;
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
    and with his wounds we are healed.

I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to fully comprehend the pain and suffering that Christ went through on my behalf.  Nor, will I ever be able to fully comprehend His unconditional love for me.  So thankful, that He loves me so and that I can put my hope in Him!
