Jealousy can have devastating effects on relationships--this is lived out by Saul and his relationship with David.
Year: 2021
David takes on Goliath
David is the small shepherd-boy hero of the account of David and Goliath, right? Pastor Scott takes us through what happened, and who the ACTUAL hero is.
Two Ordinances
God gave us two special ways to celebrate our salvation, regularly. These are called 'ordinances'. Pastor Scott taught us what these are, what these are not, and then we got to participate in them!
The Choosing of David
Was it David's physique that got him chosen to be the king of Israel? Certainly not, though he had serious strength and skills in protecting sheep. God chose him because of his heart - and we ought to remember this when we want to be used by God!
The Real Star
Pastor Scott set the stage for our new series on David. We were reminded that even though there were 66 chapters of the Bible devoted to the life of David - the real Star of his life, is God! The real Star is always God.
Wait up!
Wally Rose brought us a sermon on waiting on the Lord. I don't think any of us are particularly skilled in this area--especially in the fast-paced world that we live in!
Gospel Plus Nothing
Pastor Eric brought a challenge to us from Galatians 5, related to the freedom that we have from a religious system. The Judaizers were trying to add extra "steps" to the gospel, which was WRONG - but sometimes we are tempted to do the same thing!
Missions Emphasis Day
We enjoyed having Mark and Sophia Self with us this week, and also our Skype interview with the Compton family. We also got to worship God together, and watch the Day Camp video!
Sword of the Spirit
Pastor Scott shares with us the only offensive weapon that we have - the Sword of the Spirit, the Bible. But it's enough! Father's Day is the perfect day to talk about how the Word of God is our offensive weapon against the crazy things happening in our world.
Graduate Recognition Service
Pastor Eric gave a challenge to our 2021 High School and College graduates, and we all celebrated what God has done, in bringing them to this place!
