1. What is one big question you have as a result of watching this episode, or something that captured your imagination the most from the episode?
2. How does this episode highlight the tension between Jesus’ message and the social, cultural, and religious norms of His time? How is this tension still relevant today?
3. Nicodemus and Schmuel disagreed about whether or not God could take on human form. Why is it hard for people to believe that God could and would take on human form? Why is it important to believe that God could and did take on human form?
4. As you consider the response of the people to Jesus’ teaching and his performing of a miracle, what did you notice?
5. What do you believe the purpose was behind the miracles that Jesus performed during His earthly ministry?
6. What were some of the things that Nicodemus was wrestling with after seeing Mary and watching Jesus perform the miracle of healing the paralytic?
