Thanking God For His Son.

As I go into this week, I find myself feeling called to refocus on what many of us would consider a basic part of our faith. I feel like I am being encouraged to focus on thanking God this week for sending Jesus to die for all of us. Like I said this seems to be a fairly basic part of our faith that all of us know. Many of us even take the time during worship or maybe when we are prompted to thank God for sending His Son for us. With Easter on my mind I feel that I really need to refocus to taking time every day to thank God for loving each of us so much that he sent His Son to die on the cross for us. I took some time to do this today and it has really shifted my perspective heading into another week of this quarantine. I have more joy and hope because I have focused my mind on the true victory that triumphs over everything else that is going on right now.

Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

This passage really helps me understand why the truest way to show God thanksgiving in my life is to thank Him for giving up His Son for me. This isn’t super easy for me to do every day because it means that I must let myself be reminded that I am a sinner that was in need of a savior. Once I remind myself of that though I can immediately find joy and hope in the fact that God did provide me with a savior. I really want to encourage you all this week to start to do this with me every day. Whether you take some time to start praying for this or add it to your normal daily prayer time make sure that you allow yourself to fully thank God for this gift. I miss you all and hope to see you all soon. Stay safe and have a great week!
