Sermon Category: Exalting Jesus

Part one of a three-week series on Jesus, the Evangelist.

When we try to look perfect on the outside to people, we are on the fast track to hypocrisy(we need to fear God, not man). Jesus taught the disciples about this principle in this chapter of Luke, and Pastor Scott then taught us, as well.

The Pharisees were the definition of "religious". Jesus gave them an earful about how their priorities were wrong. We can learn much from this passage!

To be blessed by God, we need to hear and be obedient to His Word.  Pastor Scott takes us through the next section of Luke, where this is taught. 

Spiritual neutrality is impossible.  Sometimes we like to think we are riding the fence between following the world, and following Christ.  But truly, there is no middle ground.

"Don't pray like the hypocrites." We've heard this before, but what does it mean? Pastor Scott helps us search our hearts about the motivation of our prayers.

The disciples had just seen Christ do incredible miracles, but boy did they ever forget quickly, how mighty He is!

Life is full of questions -- Pastor Scott shares in this sermon, what he feels is the most important question that we need an answer to - find out what it is!

Compassion is a necessary component of delivering the gospel message.  We each tend to have way too much, or not near enough of it.  Pastor Scott takes us on a journey of finding out what our job is, related to this important command from God!
